+++ ABOUT THIS ALBUM +++
After a long COVID hiatus, we finally decided to wake the beast again and return with our first LP in five years, A Room To Drown In. I took the overall theme in a literal direction, where as Mike approached things more figuratively, and that's what gives this album some depth that our previous works seemed to lack. We went in there with a blueprint, not just a desire to make noise, although that will always be part of the equation. A space in which people are sent to drown, or go to drown themselves in, or something else entirely — the concept is yours to interpret.

Everything was kept as close to our original formula as possible: same studio (although they've moved locations since we recorded Apocryphal Salvation), same recording style, same split duties between drums, bass, and vocals, and same use of improvisation instead of pre-writing anything beforehand (except the album title and song names, which were chosen prior to reaching the studio). Our expanding influences with hints of crust punk, psychedelia, black metal, hardcore, and powerviolence were on full display here. The result is some of the most primal and punishing music we've ever produced; I think we even surprised ourselves with how little the hiatus affected our ability to create, and above all else, how we're still able to push the envelope after all this time.
